Senior Development

ABOUT

The Senior Development program is for .22 Biathlon athletes (Aged 15-16) who are looking for a standard biathlon program to help develop and advance their shooting abilities and who are looking to compete at the local and provincial level. Upon consultation with the coach, some athletes may be recommended to compete at Biathlon Canada National Championships. This program is built around 2 sessions of live shooting per week (Mon. 6:30-8:00pm & Sat. 2:30-4:00pm), as well as some at-home dry-firing drills suggested by coaches. Previous biathlon experience is not required, but is helpful. Athletes should also be registered in a nordic ski program as the focus of this group is on shooting skills and fitness.

Three optional but highly recommended camps (the costs of these camps are not included in your registration):

  • Jericho, Vermont (Summer Rollerski/Biathlon Race) Early August, 1 week.

  • Gatineau Super Camp (mid August)

  • Craftsbury, Vermont Snow Camp (Late November/Early December)

Athletes must have their own rifle and purchase their own ammunition. The club does have a limited number of rifles to rent for the summer or season Priority will be given to athletes in the Junior/Senior Development program.
