HP and HP+
ABOUT
The High Performance (HP) program is for .22 Biathlon athletes (Aged 16 or older) who are looking for a standard biathlon program to help develop and advance their shooting abilities and who are looking to compete at the provincial level and attend Biathlon Canada National Championships. This program is built around 2 sessions of live shooting per week (Wed. 6:30-8:00pm & Sat. 1:00-2:30pm), as well as some at-home dry-firing drills suggested by coaches. This shooting schedule is fully integrated with the overall Nordic Race and Biathlon Race training plan. Athletes should also be registered in a nordic ski program as the focus of this group is on shooting skills and fitness. Previous biathlon experience is required.
The HP+ program is for athletes in the High Performance program who want an extra day of biathlon training (Sun. 8:00-9:30am). This program is supplemental to the High Performance program.
Three optional but highly recommended camps (the costs of these camps are not included in your registration):
Jericho, Vermont (Summer Rollerski/Biathlon Race) Early August, 1 week.
Gatineau Super Camp (mid August)
Craftsbury, Vermont Snow Camp (Late November/Early December)
Athletes must have their own rifle and purchase their own ammunition. The club does have a limited number of rifles to rent for the summer or season Priority will be given to athletes in the Junior/Senior Development program.
