Junior Development

ABOUT

The Junior Development program is for .22 Biathlon athletes (Aged 13-14) who are looking for a standard biathlon program to help develop and advance their shooting abilities and who are looking to compete at the local and provincial level. This program is built around 2 sessions of live shooting per week (Mon. 6:30-8:00pm & Sat. 2:30-4:00pm), as well as some at-home dry-firing drills suggested by coaches. Previous biathlon experience is not required, but is helpful. Athletes should also be registered in a nordic ski program as the focus of this group is on shooting skills and fitness.

An optional but highly recommended camp (the costs of these camps are not included):

  • Gatineau Super Camp (mid August)

Athletes must have their own rifle and purchase their own ammunition. The club does have a limited number of rifles to rent for the summer or season. Priority will be given to athletes in the Junior/Senior Development program.
