Masters

The Masters program is for .22 Biathlon athletes (Aged 25+) who are looking for a standard biathlon program to help develop and advance their shooting abilities and who are looking to compete at the local and provincial level. Upon consultation with the coach, some athletes may be recommended to compete at Biathlon Canada National Championships. This program is built around 2 sessions of live shooting per week (Tue & Thu 6:30-8:00pm), as well as some at-home dry-firing drills suggested by coaches. Athletes should be capable in skate skiing, registration in a ski program or ski lessons is recommended but not required.

Three optional camps maybe available to masters athletes if extra spots are available (the costs of these camps are not included in your registration):

  • Jericho, Vermont (Summer Rollerski/Biathlon Race) Early August, 1 week.

  • Gatineau Super Camp (mid August)

  • Craftsbury, Vermont Snow Camp (Late November/Early December)

Athletes must have their own rifle and purchase their own ammunition. The club does have a limited number of rifles to rent for the summer or season Priority will be given to athletes in the Junior/Senior Development program.

FAQ

  • Previous biathlon experience not. Athletes should also be registered in a nordic program.

  • Sessions are Tuesday 6:30-8:00pm and Thursday 6:30-8:00pm at Chelsea Nordiq’s Biathlon Range, located at Camp Fortune.

  • Sessions are led by trained coaches.

  • Active wear, running shoes, skate skis, skate boots, poles, gloves, tuque. Athletes must provide their own Biathlon rifle.

  • The cost for the program is Spring/Summer $307.50, Fall/Winter $717.50.
