Youth Program
ABOUT
Our 9-week Youth Program is aimed at young people who are new to skiing or are still developing basic skills in classic and skate technique. It’s the perfect way to set youth up for success and help them transition into one of our Race or Adventure programs with confidence.
The skiers will learn and practice the basic techniques for both classic and skate skiing including balance, agility and endurance. This will be done through fun games and drills as well as short distance skis compatible with the ski level of the group. At the end of the season, the group will do a longer ski on the Voie Verte or in the Gatineau Park.
Please note: All families will be required to volunteer as a coach, parking attendant or hot chocolate duty. There will be a sign up sheet prior to the start of lessons.

One or two sets of poles. Classic poles up to armpit with boots on. Skate poles up to the mouth with boots on.
*Note: your child can use waxable classic skis for skate skiing by removing the wax. It’s very difficult to skate ski using classic skis with ‘skins’ or ‘scales’ and therefore is not recommended.
