Nordic Adventure
ABOUT
The Nordic Adventure program is for athletes aged 14-18 (as at Dec. 31, 2024) who are always up for a challenge, like to be physically fit and active, are competent skiers and enjoy exploring the outdoors with friends.
The program has two phases: i) dry-land activities ii): on-snow sessions
Dry-land sessions
We offer a great mix of fun, challenging activities that build strength, fitness and endurance. Athletes learn new skills, develop friendships and gain independence as they navigate the outdoors. Activities include: bushwhacking, team games, scavenger hunts, trail running, orienteering, biking. A highlight is always the fall hiking trip away.
Ski sessions
The on-snow sessions provide a great opportunity for competent young skiers to expand their skills and test their boundaries. They enjoy the best of classic, skate and backcountry skiing, as we make the most of the trails based on the conditions. There will be an opportunity for longer distance skis for those interested in CSM style challenges,
Highlights include the Canadian Ski Marathon and a weekend ski touring trip.
FAQ

Athletes should have completed the U14 Adventure Explorers or U14 Race program. Or, they should have completed our Youth learn to Ski program; and have developed basic classic and skate skiing technique. They should be comfortable skiing around 15km.
If this is not the case, please contact us so we can advise you appropriately.

Parent volunteers lead the sessions. Parents will be fully supported by our Adventure board director, other experienced Adventure coaches and our Head Coach.
Please contact us if you are interested in being an Adventure coach. It is a great way to get involved with the club and highly rewarding.
